Imari Basket Plates

Imari ware originated in the Arita region of Japan during the Edo period. The name "Imari" refers to the port from which these ceramics were shipped, not the kilns themselves. These plates, with their scalloped edges and vibrant floral motifs, are typical examples of Japanese export porcelain from the 19th Century.
